Sinopsis: Narra la historia de Sophie, una joven sobre la que pesa una horrible maldición que le confiere el aspecto de una anciana. Sophie decide pedir ayuda al mago Howl, que vive en un castillo ambulante, pero tal vez sea Howl quien necesite la ayuda de Sophie. 

En mi opinión, lo mejor de esta película, sin duda, es la animación. La estética es fascinante y los dibujos, preciosos, que crean un ambiente perfecto para cada escena de la película. La banda sonora me encanta, y encaja perfectamente con la película.

En cuanto a los personajes, hay de todo. Algunos, como Calcifer, que es un demonio del fuego y se encarga de mover el castillo (mi personaje favorito de esta película) son realmente buenos, sin embargo hay otros que no me acaban de convencer. También tengo que decir que la relación entre Sophie y Howl (que es un narcisita y un infantil) me parece poco real y muy forzada.

Un punto a favor es lo imaginativa que es la historia: un castillo ambulante, que es todo un ser vivo; espíritus, movimientos de energía... todo rodeado de una historia sobre guerra, que hace mucho más interesante la película.

Sí que hay algunos puntos hacia el final, en los que se empieza a hacer demasiado pesada y a liar la trama, y el final no es muy conviencente.

Además, se podía haber profundizado más en temas como esta guerra de la que ya he hablado.

En resumen, es una película imprescindible si te gustan las películas de animación, aunque tiene sus fallos.

Synopsis: Young Sophie is eighteen, and works tirelessly every day making hats in her deased father’s hat shop. One day, on a rare outing to town, Sophie accidentally encounters the Wizard Howl. Howl is dashingly handsome, yet as wizards go, he’s a bit of a wimp. The Witch of the Waste misinterprets the nature of the relationship between the two and casts a spell on Sophie, transforming her into a withered ninety-year-old woman. Sophie leaves home and wanders in the wasteland, where she enters Howl’s moving castle by chance. Hiding her true identity, she settles in as Howl’s live-in cleaning lady. Feisty old Sophie shakes the house up, with much more pep than she had as her original younger self. What will Sophie do, and what will happen between her and Howl?

In my opinion, the best thing about this film is the animation, which is really beautiful and it creates a perfect scenary for each scene of the film. Furthermore, I love the soundtrack, and it fits perfectly the film.

Talking about the characters, some of them (like Calcifer, my favourite character, which is a fire demon) are really good. However, there are others that I do not like. The relationship between Sophie and Howl (who is a narcissist and really childish) seems a bit unreal to me.

The story is very imaginative: a moving castle, which is a living thing itself, spirits, movements of energy... and of course the war that is happening in this world, which makes the film much more interesting.

There are some points around the end of the film, that are a bit boring and I think the ending is not very convicing. 

Besides, some of the topics of the film could have been more developed.

In conclussion, it is an essential film if you like the animation genre but it has some flaws.
